Greece Residents Assisting Stray Pets 6/2/24

Ed Smith spoke with Abby Curatolo, an emergency foster volunteer and fundraising committee member of GRASP(Greece Residents Assisting Stray Pets.
-Abby explained how she became involved with GRASP years ago and has continued to become more active
-She explained that GRASP is an all volunteer organization nonprofit that is committed to reducing the number of homeless pets in Greece, NY. They take in dogs, cats and some reptiles that are in need of a new safe and compatible home.
-She explained how their adoption process works.
-Abby talked about how they are in the middle of kitten season right now, so they have an influx in cats that need to be adopted
-Abby says that many times they receive animals that need medical attention and that has become more costly in recent years.
-GRASP supports all of their foster parents by giving them the supplies they need to care for the foster pet such as food, crates, toys and more.
-As a member of the fundraising committee, Abby says they must continuously work to bring in more donations to offset all of these costs. Sometimes they put out a request for a specific item they need or they partner with businesses and individuals in the community to fundraise.
-Abby says they are looking for more people to become a foster parent and volunteers to help with their upcoming Craft Show and Festival
-She organized this event and gave us a preview of what people can expect
