Webster Garlic Fest 9/1/24

Ed Smith spoke with Cherie Wood from the Webster Garlic Fest.
-She explained the idea behind the Webster Garlic Fest and gave some examples of what people can expect if they attend.
-They will have a bunch of local and regional garlic farmers at the event, food sampling, cooking demonstrations and family fun activities.
-Cherie explained where people should park if they plan on attending.
-She said the event is run by all volunteers and that money raised stays local and will support Wreaths Across America in Webster, The Rochester Gold Star Mothers and Blue Star Mothers.
-Cherie talked about National Wreath Day on December 14th, she detailed the process of what happens at the cemetary on that day.
-She said Webster is the only town locally that places a veterans wreath on all veterans graves in four different cemeteries in Webster.
-She encouraged families to get involved and attend the ceremony on National Wreath Day.
-Cherie said they also support Rochester Blue Star Mothers and Gold Star Mothers. These two organizations support military members currently deployed and their families.

-Folks from the Webster Garlic Fest will assist Blue Star Mothers and Gold Star Mothers in making care packages for military members.

-They are still looking for volunteers and sponsors for the Webster Garlic Fest.
