-Scott Fitzgerald spoke with James and Linda Major, the co-founders of the organization.
-They started the organization as a way to honor their daughter and tell her story and struggle with anorexia.
-The mission is to support adults who suffer from anorexia and other eating disorders.
-They provide peer support, educational events, motivational speakers to people with eating disorders and their family members.
-They talked about how their daughter started suffering from an eating disorder when she was 25, she attempted to get help at a residential facility but was denied service and health insurance support because she gained two pounds. They said in the years since their daughters death, insurance companies are a little better about providing coverage for help when the person is receiving treatment in a facility but there is still a gap of support when they try to leave and go back out on their own.
-They talked about the stigma around eating disorders, in particular in adults.
-They gave details about their 2nd annual fundraising event coming up in November and encouraged people to get involved.
