Ed Smith spoke with David Lanni from Cancer Support Community at Gilda’s Club.
-David talked about how he got involved with the organization. He started out as a bachelor in their annual Bachelor Auction. He then joined the Associate Board.
-He explained that the Associate Board is a group of young professional leaders with a passion for giving back and impacting the lives of cancer patients.
-He said they try to educate people about the services offered at CSC, raise awareness and help with fundraising.
-In particular, they put together various events throughout the year, including the Bachelor Auction, Golf Tournament and the Mustaches for Cancer campaign.
-David said this is the 11th year of the Mustaches for Cancer campaign and their goal is to raise $10,000.
-David is growing a mustache to show his support and he encouraged others to do so. He said if you can’t or don’t want to grow a mustache, you can still participate in the campaign.
-All of the money raised stays local and allows Cancer Support Community to provide the emotional and social support programs that they offer at no cost.
