Mark Shuttleworth interviewed Kathy Garbach from Meg’s Gift.
-Kathy gave some history on this local nonprofit and how it was started in memory of her daughter Meg who died from sucide.
-She talked about their mission of educating, advocating and supporting people with mental health issues and their families.
-Kathy talked about the loneliness epidemic and how people need help because it can lead to mental health issues.
-Kathy said they have raised close to $500,000 since 2015.
-All of the money raised yearly is given to local nonprofit organizations that deal with mental health and children.
-They typically do a golf tournament yearly to raise money but this year they are doing a dinner event with a keynote speaker. It is called Legacy of Love and will feature speaker, Hakeem Rahim.
-Kathy gave details about what people can expect at the event and encouraged people to join them.
