Today’s Wiki Corner is inspired by today’s Impossible Question. Maggie’s question today was: 64% of people have dreamt about this. The answer was falling! Did you know we dream for about 2 hours every night? Most dreams happen during the REM stage of sleep, when brain activity is high. REM sleep usually happens in the last half of a normal sleep period, so most dreaming is done in the hours before waking up. We can have dozens of dreams a night, each lasting 5-20 minutes, though we only remember 95% of our dreams! According to a study from 1996, 60-75% of adults have recurring dreams, with women being more likely to have them than men. Some common recurring dreams include being chased, falling, flying, hiding, and teeth falling out. Learn more about dreams in the audio below!
